fix It friday #35

[FacesFixIt.jpg]

I was hoping to have the new elements 8.0 for this fix-it friday ... but it hasn't arrived yet. Oh well! Hopefully by next week. This weeks fix was a great one. I am really starting to love editing photos ... until there is one that I can't seem to get right, and then I hate it. Ha Ha!

11 months

My little lady is now 11 months. So close to 1 year. I can't believe that she is almost a year. Only 25 more days ... I am not really counting. I love the sweet girl that she is growing into, but on many occasions I miss the tiny baby that she once was. But she is so much fun. She is the happiest little miss around, always laughing and smiling. She now stands up to everything and is gradually making her way around the furniture. I think it will still be a while before she is walking, but you never know! Her favorite thing to do is unload the silverware from the dishwasher all over my kitchen floor. That can seriously keep her entertained for a good while. She has snubbed all matter of baby food and now wants to only eat table food ... oh and her bottle which she loves. I don't know how I will ever take it away from her next month. She waves and says bye (when she wants to), says mama, and loves to just jabber and blow raspberries. She can't get enough of Sophie and Collin (except for when they are giving her a little too much love!) and they can't get enough of her (except for when she comes after the toys they are playing with!). We love Miss Ruby to pieces. What a joy she is.

look at that girl stand!

I love this pic because that is the face that I see looking up at me any time she wants me to pick her up! What a sweetheart!

halloween happenings ...

We have been having fun celebrating the spooky Halloween season around here.
We have feasted on spider cookies. Aren't they so fun? The kids loved them . . . and I had fun making them!

We got dressed up in our costumes and headed out for our 4th annual Neighborhood Halloween Parade (even with the snow). So much fun! I love seeing all of the costumes.

the beautiful ballerina

Sophie's costume morphed a little for the parade. Instead of ballet shoes, she chose snow boots and instead of wearing a coat to stay warm, she wore Ruby's Baby Legs on her arms. It was quite the combination! She did eventually wear her jacket after freezing and seeing everyone else in jackets.

and the spooky dragon ... not to be confused with a dinosaur!

Sophie and her friend Hannah

We carved pumpkins ... which turned into Mom and Dad carving pumpkins. Well, really it was just Dad carving the pumpkins! But the kids were thrilled with the end result. Sophie wanted Ariel carved into her pumpkin and Collin wanted a skeleton. Logan did a great job!

We did get Sophie to help take a few seeds out of her pumpkin. Collin freaked when he got any pumpkin guts on him.

Giving me their best BOO faces

We sang this song
Pumpkin, Pumpkin
Round and Fat
Turn into a Jack 0 Lantern
Just Like That!

We even roasted pumpkin seeds for the first time. Pretty Yummy! But I am not really sure if it is worth separating the seeds from the guts! I must be lazy!

Tonight ... mummy pizzas, trick-or-treating, and eating way too much candy!
happy halloween

i ♥ faces- Halloween Dress Up

Halloween is soon here.
My kids are soOOoo excited!
They knew just what they wanted to be this year.
This little man (okay he isn't so little ... but I can pretend) is a DRAGON.

I was told by my kids that ...
Boys are supposed to be SCARY
and
Girls are supposed to be BEAUTIFUL!

Any guesses on what beautiful costume she chose this year?

What scary or beautiful costumes are you or your kids sporting this Halloween?

Lucky Girl

I am one lucky girl! It was my birthday on the 23rd. I turned 29 ... crazy! Anyway I suggested on Tuesday that Logan and I fly to San Francisco on Thursday for the day to celebrate my birthday. He thought it was a great idea and before I knew it he had babysitters arranged to watch our kids so that we could go. Lucky me!

It was a fast little trip but so much fun. I love being with Logan ... just the two of us.

We did a little shopping. The stores there are huge!
We rode the trolley car.

We spent some time on the pier where we enjoyed some yummy clam chowder ...

and spent some time with these guys! I can't get enough of them.

And of course we couldn't visit San Francisco for my birthday without getting some yummy ice cream from Ghirardelli Square.

After all that it was time to catch our flight back home. It was such a fun day! I am so grateful to my mother in law and sister in law for being so willing to watch our kids. Thanks guys!

Black Island Farm

Yesterday we went to a to a pumpkin patch with some of Logan's family. It was a blast! The kids just ran wild going from one activity to the next. Slides, a bounce house, a train, a corn box, a corn cannon . . . and lots more! What else could you want?

After we played around a bit, we headed over to the hay ride. The kids loved it. They had so much fun picking out their own pumpkin.

sophie and her pumpkin

Sophie was soOOOo proud of her pumpkin. She got off the hay ride and immediately chose the pumpkin closest to her. Logan told her that she had to be able to carry the pumpkin she chose herself. So she moved to the next pumpkin which was equally big and picked it right up. So she got to keep it! She liked it because it had a long stem.

After the hay ride, Logan and I had to leave. But the kids were lucky enough to stay with Grandma and play all night. They loved it. It really was such a fun place. We will for sure go back next year!

Leaf Vacation

This time of year is soOOoo pretty. The kids have been so good at pointing out all of the different colors of leaves that they see helping me to truly take it all in this year.

Over Conference weekend we went up to Snowbasin to get a better, more up close look at the beautiful fall leaves. We called it an adventure (trying to detract from any hiking or walking that might take place - the kids were not in favor of any of that). We packed a lunch and a baggy to put our colored leaves in that we found. Lunch was cold but the kids enjoyed themselves. I think they probably ate more SNOW than food and they were loving it. Then we set out looking for leaves. The kids had fun looking for all different colored ones to add to their bag, but they were a little hesitant to set foot off of the beaten path. But by the end we had 2 kids with full bags and a bunch of branches to make us a bouquet of fall leaves to sit on the table at home. We had a lot of fun on our adventure . . . or our leaf vacation as Collin calls it!

there isn't a group of pictures taken without the "stick out our tongue shot." they love it!
